Create an New Network
Create New Network¶
With Educloud, you can create different kind of networks.
The most common type is an Isolated Network. An isolated network in EduCloud provides isolation for instances within a single account. Instances in one isolated network cannot be directly accessed by external hosts or other networks by default.
Isolated networks operate within a private IP address range (by default 10.1.1.0/24) and allow internal communication among instances using private IP addresses. The network is managed by a virtual router that acts as a gateway and provides services such as DHCP, DNS, firewall, port forwarding, NAT, load balancing, and VPN.
The virtual router in an isolated network also enables outbound network connectivity to external networks.
Create Isolated Network.¶
- In the left navigation menu, choose Network.
- Select Guest Networks.
- Click Add Network.
Give your isolated network a name and choose the Network Offering that best fits your needs.
There are a few available offerings:
1. Offering for Isolated networks with Source Nat service and Default Egress Policy enabled.
(Also compatible with Kubernetes service)
2. Offering for Isolated networks with Source Nat Service
(not compatible with kubernetes service)
When you choose the first (default) offering, all outgoing traffic is allowed. When you choose the second offering, all outgoing traffic is denied, and you must create egress rules to allow traffic to the internet.

click OK to finish. A new Isolated network will be created.
